OBJECTIVES
To strengthen research and technical capacities of higher education institutions in specific area - cereal chemistry and technology and cereal-based functional food production. To build technology transfer capacities of Higher Education Institutions and to establish technology transfer connection/cooperation between higher education institutions and food business operators in abovementioned area and to develop new cereal-based functional food products fortified with karst plants, karst plants extracts, Mediterranean fruits and vegetables and honey-bee products.
ESTIMATED RESULTS
The expected results of the project are to equip and establish Laboratory for cereal chemistry and technology within the University of Applied Sciences "Marko Marulić" in Knin, to upgrade Laboratory for cereal chemistry and technology within the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb, that is a partner institution on this project, to develop technology transfer network between partners and associates/target groups and to launch new cereal-based functional food products.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
Equipment procurement for the laboratory and establishing of a laboratory within the University of Applied Sciences 'Marko Marulić' in Knin, equipment procurement for the laboratory within the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb, organization of laboratory equipment handling training program, ensuring cooperation between partners, creation and launch of the project website as a central place of information exchange between partners and associates/target groups, creating and publishing of brochure, product design and process development, product commercialization, product launch and post-launch analyses.
